The car currently shows 66,575 km and comes with a documented maintenance history. Since 2011, this example has been in the possession of the same owner. Technically, the SM has been very well cared for. The gearbox was recently completely overhauled, with a new clutch fitted and various parts replaced preventively. For this work, the engine was completely removed, which also made it possible to renew several adjacent components at the same time. The well-known “howling” in fifth gear has therefore completely disappeared. The hydraulic system has been thoroughly checked and addressed where necessary, and the chassis is in very good condition. The Maserati V6 runs beautifully; the engine was overhauled about 75,000 km ago, which provides great confidence and long-lasting driving pleasure. Cosmetically, the car makes a particularly tidy impression. In 2018, the SM was completely repainted, resulting in a sharp and representative appearance. Due to the age of the paint, a few light spots of corrosion are now visible, without detracting from the overall appearance. The interior is finished in warm brown leather. The seats were reupholstered in the past, with the original and much-loved “broodjes” deliberately retained. In addition, this example is equipped with tinted glass, giving the interior a stylish and luxurious look. It is furthermore an original airless SM, a feature appreciated by connoisseurs.
