KTM 690 Enduro Rally Raid – World Travel Motorcycle with a Story For sale is my KTM 690 Enduro with an extensive Rally-Raid conversion worth several thousand euros. With this motorcycle, I traveled through 46 countries over several years. At times I was on the road with it for more than a year at a stretch. The history of the motorcycle and many of my trips can be followed on Geri on Tour on Facebook and Instagram. For me, the KTM 690 is still one of the most versatile travel motorcycles of all time: light, powerful, narrow, very easy to ride even with luggage, and still pleasantly free of unnecessary electronics. Rally-Raid conversion & equipment • Rally Raid fairing with rally tower and large front headlight • additional Rally-Raid side tanks in the front fairing • a total of 3 tanks with approx. 20 liters total capacity • range of approx. 400 km depending on riding style • Touratech luggage rack • Touratech/Kahedo comfort seat, higher and wider than the original seat • Touratech handlebar risers • Touratech auxiliary lights • Touratech top case mount • heated grips • 2x USB port • prepared for navigation, smartphone, roadbook, etc. The Rally-Raid conversion alone at the time, with rally tower, fairing and additional tanks, cost more than the current selling price of the complete motorcycle. Additional tank The right additional Rally-Raid tank has a crack about 3–4 mm long in the area of a screw mount. That is why I am currently not using this tank. The other two tanks are used normally. Anyone who wants to use the full tank capacity again should have the right tank repaired or glued accordingly. I bought the motorcycle in 2019 with only approx. 6,000 km, and have therefore practically ridden the entire mileage it has now myself. The kilometers were accumulated mainly on long trips and road/adventure tours, not through hard enduro use. The motorcycle has seen comparatively little real enduro riding. Of course, a motorcycle that has experienced more than 100,000 km and 46 countries shows its life as well. It is not a nearly new garage motorcycle, but an honest and genuinely used travel motorcycle. Service & current technical condition The KTM was continuously maintained and serviced during my travels. Recently, the following work, among other things, was carried out: • front fork completely overhauled • clutch overhauled or clutch wear parts replaced • major service and technical inspection During this inspection, however, it was found that there is a noticeable mechanical noise coming from the area of the engine block. According to the current assessment, the cause could be in the area of the crankshaft bearing. However, a final diagnosis will only be possible once the engine is opened. If the engine has to be disassembled for this anyway, in my opinion it would make sense to inspect it thoroughly straight away and, depending on its condition, replace other wear parts as well. Since I have now moved to Hungary and would like to switch to a newer motorcycle anyway, I do not want to start this project myself anymore. That is exactly why the KTM is being sold at this price. What is important to me is an honest description: The motorcycle starts, runs, and I am currently still using it regularly and even daily. Nevertheless, the next owner should expect that work on the engine may become necessary in the foreseeable future. Anyone who can work on it themselves, has a good workshop, or has time for a project will get an exceptionally built motorcycle with many high-quality extras. The Rally-Raid conversion, tanks, tower, Touratech parts and the rest of the equipment alone represent significant value. I have now moved to Hungary and the registration transfer is unnecessarily complicated for me. At the same time, I would like to switch to a newer travel motorcycle anyway.
