Mercedes-Benz S500L 4MATIC | V8 | Long | Distronic | Youngtimer | Tanzanite Blue For sale: my 2003 Mercedes-Benz S500L 4MATIC, facelift version, finished in Tanzanite Blue with a black leather interior and dark brown wood trim. Mileage: 191,300 km The mileage may increase slightly, as the car is regularly used. This is not a W220 with an extremely low mileage that has spent its life under a cover. It is a well-maintained, complete and above all honest example that is simply driven. A 23-year-old S-Class will always have points of attention and there will always be something that can be improved further. I am not secretive about that. On the other hand, I fully stand behind the technical condition of the car. It has never let me down, drives excellently and is continuously maintained and improved. History The car was originally delivered for the Italian market and was maintained up to around 141,000 km by the same official Mercedes-Benz dealer in Italy. The original Italian service documentation is present. After that, the car was imported to Poland, where the following work was carried out, among other things: • inspection/revision of the AIRMATIC system; * new distributor block/valve block for the AIRMATIC; * inspection/revision of the engine; * new spark plugs; * new ignition coils. I then bought the Mercedes myself in Poland and personally imported it to the Netherlands. Since then, it has been in my possession. The Italian service documentation and invoices/documentation for work carried out in Poland are present. Before the sale, the car will receive a new MOT inspection. Technical condition Mechanically, the car is in very good condition in my opinion. The 5.0-liter M113 V8 runs beautifully, has plenty of power, starts without issue and has never let me down. The 5G-Tronic automatic transmission shifts as it should, without unnecessary hesitation or strange behavior. The 4MATIC drivetrain also functions without problems. The AIRMATIC works excellently. Even after prolonged standing still in winter, the car did not sag. The system is tight, the compressor works well and all suspension functions operate properly. Adjustable AIRMATIC links have been installed. The car currently sits about 20–30 mm lower than standard, mainly because of the 20-inch wheels. The height can be adjusted as desired. The original AIRMATIC functions and the different damping settings remain fully retained. No strange electronic faults or unexplained messages. All important comfort equipment functions. Body & interior An important point on a W220: the car is free of rust and the underside is in exceptionally neat condition. The bodywork is in good to very good condition for its age. Various parts have been repainted in the past and, of course, there are signs of use here and there. After all, it is not a new car. The car has recently been polished and the paintwork has been protected with a ceramic coating. The interior has been professionally cleaned and protected. The black leather interior is in very good condition for its age, without major damage. The car is neatly maintained, carefully washed and looks very well cared for both inside and out.
