Exceptionally handsome Mercedes-Benz 380 SLC (C107) in the rare and original color combination of Lapis Blue Metallic (932) with cream velour interior (935). This SLC was originally delivered new in Mainz, Germany, but soon after went with its first owner to South Africa. There the car remained until 2019, after which it returned to Europe. Since 2020 the car has been in our possession. The South African history is not fully known, but after its first German owner the car was owned for a long time by a South African garage owner. The sticker from his garage is still on the rear window. The odometer reads just over 176,000 km, which is most likely the original mileage. The car is matching numbers: the original engine is still present, in accordance with the Mercedes-Benz datacard. Maintenance and work Since our purchase in 2020, we have devoted a lot of time and attention to the car. Among other things, the following work has been carried out: · Welding work at the front of the sills, a well-known rust-prone area on the C107. · New spare wheel well installed. · Entire underside cleaned and treated again with Tectyl. · Full service performed. · New spark plugs, ignition cables, distributor cap and rotor. · New battery. · Extensive service on the braking system. · Four new tires (approximately five years old, with few kilometers). · Headlights and taillights refurbished. · Various parts removed, cleaned, refurbished and made operable again. In addition, the automatic transmission was fully rebuilt in South Africa in 2014. The invoice for this is available. Current condition The 380 SLC runs beautifully and drives very pleasantly. The car is fitted with a so-called straight pipe exhaust, giving the V8 a truly fantastic sound. Not original, of course, but in our opinion a great addition to the character of this Mercedes. The car was partially repainted in the past in its original color. The paintwork still looks very nice, and the combination with the cream velour interior gives the car a special appearance. The body is in good condition and free of rust. The car is ready to be enjoyed immediately. Naturally, there are still a few points of attention. For example, the air conditioning is currently not functioning properly and there are a few smaller items that could be improved. We want to be transparent about that, which is why the price is very sharp. The car is registered in the Netherlands and has a valid MOT until January 2027. If desired, it can be inspected again upon sale. Due to changes in our work, unfortunately we have less and less time to enjoy this beautiful classic. Therefore, we are looking for a new enthusiast who will drive and care for the car with just as much pleasure as we have over the past few years.
