Yamaha YZF-R6 (2006) – original and untuned – engine overhauled – complete maintenance history Looking for an R6 you can get on and ride without worries? This 2006 RJ11 in the classic Yamaha racing blue, with YCC-T ride-by-wire and slipper clutch, is still completely original. Never tuned, original exhaust, nothing done to the engine or engine management. The parts that typically wear out or fail on an older R6 have been renewed in recent years: the complete cylinder head has been overhauled, the timing chain and all valve stem seals are new, it has a new alternator, and the main gaskets have been replaced. MAINTENANCE AND WORK DONE - 2022 (approx. 40,000 km): complete cylinder head overhaul at Ten Kate Motoren. New timing chain, all valve stem seals replaced, valves and camshafts adjusted, new spark plugs, tested on the dyno. Over €1,600 of work. - 2023: crankcase gasket replaced and general inspection at Van de Kuinder Motoren. - 2024: new alternator, and the well-known weak connector was replaced with soldered cables. The charging problem that many R6s suffer from has been permanently solved. - May 2026: minor service at Motorcentrum Almere, with fresh oil, filter and brake fluid.
