I am reluctantly letting my RCZ go. It was never just a consumable item, but a car that was consistently invested in. The major work I did together with a friend who is an RCZ specialist, so it was done on our own and with original parts instead of at the authorized dealer. Parts invoices and workshop receipts are available, and my colleague is available to answer questions from serious interested buyers. Most important first: the engine Anyone familiar with the 1.6 THP knows about the timing chain and camshaft adjuster issue. That has been dealt with here, using original parts: • 2025: timing chain kit completely renewed in original equipment quality, including chain tensioner, guide and tension rails, as well as both camshaft adjusters • valve cover completely renewed including crankcase ventilation • turbo control valve renewed • 2026: turbocharger checked, sealed, shaft without play, no bearing damage. Oil supply and return line renewed, invoice available • 2025: intake ports blasted with walnut shells, then oil change • oil changes consistently once a year, fully documented. Liqui Moly Top Tec with PSA approval throughout That saves a buyer the €2,000 to €3,000 that would otherwise be a risk with any other RCZ at this mileage. Walnut blasting of the intake ports is almost never done on direct-injection engines. And the annual oil change is not a formality with this engine, but the reason it is still running. Note: in this size only Kumho and Falken offer approval, so tire choice is limited. • winter complete wheels (5 pieces) included, good tread condition Open and honest, so there are no discussions later The plastic coolant flange on the cylinder head, toward the rear on the transmission side, has a hairline crack and will need to be replaced soon. The replacement part costs 167 euros, and labor at a workshop is about 800 euros because access is tight. Anyone doing the work themselves will get by with around 200 euros in materials. This is the only open issue on the vehicle, and the price fully takes it into account. Oil consumption is 0.5 l per 1,000 km, determined by me over a full 1,000 km measuring distance and not estimated. Peugeot specifies 0.5 l per 1,000 km as the tolerance limit for this engine family. The engine runs unobtrusively: no misfires, no loss of power, no warning message. Why this car The RCZ was built at Magna Steyr in Graz from 2010 to 2015, about 67,000 times in just over five years. It had no predecessor and no successor, and it shares no body panel with any other Peugeot. This vehicle is the original version before the 2013 facelift, i.e. the variant with the more subtle front end. The double-bubble roof, the aluminum arches, the deployable rear spoiler: after thirteen years, this car still looks like nothing else. And it drives exactly as it looks.
